A Strength Coach’s Secret Weapon to Improve Performance.

Do you want to know a top strength coach’s secret weapon to run faster, jump higher and lift heavier? It’s not 3 hours in the gym, sitting in a tub of ice until you scream, or pushing your body so hard that you can’t walk up the stairs the next day, either.

My name is Coach Matt Pippin. I’ve been a Strength and Mobility Coach for over 15 years, working with athletes far and wide. From professional, collegiate, and everyday athletes, to weekend warriors, they all have one common question: “What’s the secret to optimal human performance?” People usually look at me like I’m crazy when I tell them, it’s all about recovering harder than you train.

Once you start to understand how important recovery is to the human body, you quickly see that if you want to excel at anything, recovery is key.

Why is Recovery so Important?

Recovery is how our body repairs itself after handling stress, whether it be physical, emotional, or psychological. No matter what is causing the stress, we must incorporate some strategies of recovery so we can continue to push our bodies in everything we do.

If you recover more today, then you can train harder, longer, and with a reduced chance of injuries, tomorrow. Another bonus of increased recovery is that you can dominate the other aspects of your life outside of fitness like relationships and business, because your body is primed and running at an optimal level. My Ultimate Recovery Recipe

Now that you know how important recovery is, you’re probably wondering, what’s the simplest most efficient way to do it? Don’t worry I’ve got you covered with this easy formula:

Most likely, you’ve heard the term “mobility training” before. If you ask a million people what it actually means, you’ll probably get a million different answers. It’s not foam rolling, lacrosse ball smashing, or banded stretching.

Mobility training is joint training, and its goal is to build the healthiest, most resilient joints humanly possible. Mobility training strengthens your joints in the same way strength training builds muscle and cardiovascular training strengthens your heart. Mobility training is incredibly powerful because all movement and all injury comes from your joints. Think of your joints as your own personal hardware. The better the hardware, the better the performance.

When it comes to recovery for myself and my clients, I target the “Big 3” joints: The spine, shoulders, and hips. These joints take the biggest beating on a daily basis no matter what sport or activity you’re doing. With mobility training, we can take each of these joints through their biggest pain-free range of motion which starts promoting active recovery in each of them.

I love to say “movement is medicine,” and there is simply no better way to achieve this than through mobility training. The only way our joints receive sufficient blood flow is through movement. If we don’t move, we don’t get blood flow, which means we’re not recovering. In the video below, I’ll show you the proper technique to maximize recovery for the “Big 3”.

Supercharged Combination

If you’re reading this blog, then you’re probably already familiar with how effective CBD can be in aiding recovery. The plain and simple version is CBD reduces inflammation, alleviates stress, relieves chronic aches and pains, followed by a long list of other amazing benefits. When combined with mobility training….you have yourself the ultimate recovery recipe.

1. After your workout:  Apply either the CBD Sports Cream or CBD Body Lotion to your hips, shoulders, spine, and anything else that might be a little tender or beat up.

2. After your workout & before bed:  Perform your mobility exercises for at least 5 reps on each side, in each direction.

3. Before bed:  The steps above are enough to get you ready for tomorrow, however, if you want even more recovery, then start adding Full Spectrum or Isolate CBD Oil to your nightly routine. A dose of this before bed will prepare you to have the deepest sleep possible, which is when all the needed recovery and repairing takes place.
