Stay Home. Stay Motivated
Spending all this time at home has allowed us to slow down–but now that we’re entering the 4th week of quarantine and practicing social distancing, it can be easy to lose touch with our everyday routines.
Just because we’re home and not changing out of our PJs until 5 pm (which we totally support), it doesn’t mean we have to lose motivation for those fitness and health resolutions we set for ourselves just 3 months ago.
Here are 5 ways to stay motivated — and how Resilience CBD can help along the way.
Stretching is extremely underrated in terms of overall health and wellbeing. It’s also something we can all do from the comfort of our homes without annoying our downstairs neighbors.
When you’re stressed out – your blood flow is restricted and this can contribute to built-up tension in your muscles. Problem areas typically include the neck, lower back, and shoulders. Because many of us are probably getting less physical activity in — it’s important to maintain that movement. Stretching will help to improve blood flow and blood pressure, decrease inflammation, promote recovery, and as mentioned, reduce stress. Check out our Complete Guide to Stretching for other benefits of stretching, types of stretching you should focus on, an interview with strength and mobility coach Matt Pippen, and tips for how to incorporate Resilience CBD into your stretching routine.
NIGHT IS AS IMPORTANT AS MORNING:
We all know it’s important to start your day off on the right foot in order to stay productive throughout the day. But have you established a night routine? Still binging or scrolling until 2 am? This can drastically decrease your sleep quality (and the amount of sleep you’re getting each night) — which results in an unproductive, low energy day to follow.
The blue light emitted from our screens actually decreases the production of melatonin — which helps to regulate your sleep cycles (or circadian rhythm). It’s important to put screens away up to an hour before you hit the hay. Try meditating, reading, or even doing a quick clean up of your house each night, this will keep you off those screens, and mark one item off your to-do list in the morning.
One of Resilience CBD’s primary benefits is the regulation of sleep patterns. Taking CBD oils or CBD gummies before bed or in the morning will help you fall asleep, stay asleep, and wake up feeling refreshed ready for the day. Read more on sleep and Resilience CBD, here.
CHECK ‘EM OFF
We all know and love the satisfaction you get crossing items off a checklist. If you’re working from home, you most likely have a list of things you need to knock out for the day or the week. Why not add a few things related to your mental and physical health? Even if it’s as simple as reminding yourself to take a drop of Resilience CBD oil in the morning — a list may help!
This can also help in gamification against yourself. If you list out 3 at-home workouts, by the time Saturday rolls around, you’ll find yourself working to get in that 3rd workout so you don’t let yourself down (or leave an empty checkbox).
ROUTINE IS EVERYTHING
Because we’re all off our regular routines — it’s essential we establish routines for being at home. This will keep you sane, and on track for personal, work and health goals. Here are a few things you can try adding into your morning, afternoon, and evening routines to help you stay focused, fit, and looking forward:
Vitamin D: Getting outside and soaking up the sun in the morning will immediately cause your body to start producing Vitamin D. This helps in regulating the absorption of calcium, phosphorus, and immune system functions. It’s also important you remember your sunscreen! If you forget — moisturize your skin and tame inflammation with our CBD Body Lotion.
CBD: Implementing CBD into your daily routine will help with keeping mental and physical tensions at bay, while also regulating inflammation, eating, and sleeping patterns. Try ending your evening with a Revive or Recover bath bomb a couple times a week and you’ll feel more relaxed than you have in months!
Add Breaks to your Cal: Carve out two 15 minute breaks into your day to close your computer, turn off your phone, and reset. Try going for a walk, meditating, or reading a chapter of your favorite book! Even though you’re home, it can be easy to dismiss breaks you’d usually take.
KEEP YOUR IMMUNITY IN CHECK
Lastly, but most importantly — during these times of stress and uncertainty, it’s more important than ever to keep your health in check. Try adding all the immune-boosting foods and vitamins to your diet as possible. We released an awesome Immune Boosting Smoothie recipe that can help you make sure you’re getting the nutrients your body needs to stay healthy. Focus on staying hydrated, getting sufficient amounts of sleep and exercise, taking your vitamins (especially vitamin C), and eating fresh fruits and vegetables.
We hope this list can help you stay motivated to stay moving while at home! Given this list, it’s also important you give yourself a break — if you miss a few days here or there, no problem. If you found this list helpful, let us know! We’re always open to your questions, comments, or stories of how Resilience has helped you along the way.
Stay safe and well!
